Steve O’Neill

Until early 2014, Mr. Steve O’Neill was President of Boeing Satellite Systems International Inc. and Vice President of Commercial Satellite Systems for Space and Intelligence Systems (S&IS) within Boeing Defense, Space & Security. He was responsible for general management of all Boeing commercial satellites, ground systems and services. He also had oversight for a variety of commercial satellite systems, including Intelsat, Inmarsat, MEXSAT, a joint procurement contract from Asia Broadcast Satellite/Satmex, SES, Light Squared and ViaSat. In addition, Mr. O'Neill previously managed the DIRECTV, Thuraya, Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) and Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) programs. Mr. O'Neill is also responsible for the recently established satellite services business unit, Boeing Commercial Satellite Services.

Mr. O’Neill retired from the Boeing Company in early 2014 and currently is working as an international business consultant.

Mr. O’Neill has more than 37 years of experience in the aerospace industry, principally involved in satellite and launch vehicle programs. His experience includes engineering, manufacturing, supplier management, business management, business development and program management. He has worked in commercial, civil, Air Force and proprietary areas.

Prior to joining Boeing, Mr. O'Neill worked for Lockheed Martin. He served in the U.S. Air Force and piloted B-52 and T-38 aircraft. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He also is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University with a degree as a professional government program manager.
