Manager, Market Development - Maritime

  • Job Purpose

  • The Manager, Europe Market Development – Maritime is responsible for directly generating demand and finding/cultivating new opportunities to sell Thuraya’s Maritime products and services through direct engagement with end-users.
  • Principal Accountabilities

    • Drive Market Development Activities for Thuraya Maritime sector in Europe:
      • Build a pipeline of potential customers – shipping and offshore companies, VSAT service providers, etc
      • Progress customers through the Thuraya Market Development stages of engagement in order to identify Opportunities to sell Thuraya maritime products and services in the region
      • Bring back customer requirements and advocate within Thuraya to implement new pricing packages, additional Solutions, etc. in order to develop complete value propositions which are competitive with other MSS operators, and which leverage Thuraya’s technology, footprint and position in the market
      • Share Opportunities with Thuraya Distribution team and Service Partners (SPs) and work collaboratively to ensure closure of Opportunities
      •  Build on success to upsell and renew business from proven Accounts
    • Represent Thuraya at maritime exhibitions, events, panels, interviews, etc
    • Build relationships with key maritime SPs and coordinate sales forecasts and joint marketing activities
    • Advise on enhancements to the existing Thuraya distribution channels and specifically recommend new SPs to fill Gaps in Thuraya’s maritime distribution capabilities
    • Execute other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor 
  • Knowledge Skills and Experience

    • Degree in Marketing and/or Business Administration from a recognized university. Other Marketing related certifications are a plus
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the marine industry, preferably related to marine vessel navigation & communications systems, vessel procurement or operations  
    • Strong track record of leading sales within the marine industry
    • Telecommunication industry experience is an advantage
    • Strong collaboration and team work skills
    • Self-starting and good communication skills
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English
